Creative technology / prototype

Img2Sound

Turn images into sound, adjust the mapping, compare renders, and export browser-generated audio.

The problem

Image-to-audio experiments are difficult to tune when the mapping from pixels to sound is hidden.

My role

Image-to-audio mapping, synthesis controls, and browser interface engineering.

What I built

  • Image-to-audio browser studio
  • Render comparison and reverse image studies
  • WAV and stem downloads

The result

A runnable browser tool for listening to image mappings and exporting the resulting audio.

Implementation

How it works

Upload an image, adjust the spectrogram mapping, render audio, and compare versions. The browser studio also supports reverse image studies from sound and downloadable WAV or stem outputs.

Technical context and methods

The project began as a Python desktop experiment. The browser implementation exposes image upload, mapping controls, comparison, reverse studies, and export.
