About Filippo
Dual identity, one system: scientist-builder in the clean-retro workstation, Recombinase in the deeper node.
Short bio
Filippo D. Galbo is a clinical scientist, molecular technologist, builder, and artist working at the intersection of diagnostics, automation, AI systems, and dark media. His background spans molecular diagnostics, qPCR, sequencing workflows, assay validation, and high-throughput testing, while his current focus is shifting toward AI, bioinformatics, automation, and ExoCortex, a personal system for machine-assisted work and creative signal recombination.
Creative mode
Recombinase is Filippo's off-grid signal identity: a scientist-engineer-artist recombining memory, noise, found footage, laboratory aesthetics, and dark electronic atmosphere into music, visuals, and transmission systems. The project lives between biotech noir, cyberpunk drift, internet debris, and machine-mediated feeling. This is not music. This is memory recombination.
Full bio
Filippo D. Galbo is a molecular diagnostics professional and systems-minded builder with experience across clinical genomics, molecular pathology, assay validation, high-throughput COVID testing, laboratory automation, and operational problem solving. His work has touched qPCR, NGS, sequencing workflows, diagnostic platforms, extraction-free testing systems, clinical laboratory informatics, and real-world assay implementation under regulated constraints. He has worked across institutions and environments including academic medicine, hospital molecular diagnostics, startup-scale assay development, high-volume testing operations, and federal clinical laboratory systems. His path includes SIUE, Washington University School of Medicine, the University of Chicago, Kirby Medical Center, Summit Biolabs, Elevation Diagnostics, and the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. Filippo's technical identity is shaped by pressure-tolerant systems thinking: validating instruments, building workflows, scaling testing, solving process failures, and bridging wet lab reality with computational leverage. He works comfortably where biology, software, instrumentation, and operations collide. He is now increasingly focused on AI, automation, bioinformatics, and personal operating systems for knowledge work and creative production. Under the name Recombinase, he also builds music, visuals, and a darker cybernetic media identity centered on memory, signal, mutation, and recombination.
